Final evaluation
Throughout the duration of component 1, I was able to capture at least 24 pictures for each post. Some posts, I had done more than one shoot so that I could refine my previous work and develop it. I would say that the majority of shoots were successful in terms of capturing what I wanted to capture. I was able to do this because I had made a mental plan before going out and taking pictures so that I would know exactly what to expect. For example, before capturing my pictures for form, I had researched a photographer and found images that I was going to be inspiring my own work from. I then planned to take pictures based on the photographer's work and what I would need to do this. When it was time for the shoot, I knew which picture I was going to be interpreting into my work, what I was going to need in the picture and where the things were going to go.I would, however, say that I wasn't always very successful with the settings. I would often have the wrong aperture, shutter speed or ISO. For example, I was unaware of the correct camera settings when capturing landscape as I was capturing them at night, so when I opened the images that I had taken on a computer, I was able to see that the images were blurry. To improve this, I found out the right settings that I should have been using and went back to retake the images. I sometimes would have also taken images at home when they would have been better off taken in a studio so that I could get the correct lighting. For example, I captured images for form at home using lamps as the light source and paper as the background, whereas using the studio would have been easier and look better as the lighting would be better quality.
Overall I would say that I was successful in my work for component 1 and I was able to produce a great number of images for my portfolios.
